After much delay here it is, Fully tagged and all….
My foundation is complex, yet simple. DC is my city of birth. It takes a trained eye to see past the rough exterior of my city and see the true beauty that it offers. We are the only city that isn’t really considered a city, yet everyone knows all about us. We house our contry’s government, and have become the heartbeat of this country.
Although we are known for our black on black crime, we still prove to be a very productive city. DC and its metro area produce many pro ball players every year. We also produce alot of art students and have our own genre of music. Our style and way of life is so recognizable, that anyone from DC can spot another native from a mile away. I respect my city and others. But I know that DC will always have my heart

So, eight months later, four incoming college freshmen’s little, extra-curricular, multi-media, blog project is still kicking. A lot of times, some really good blogs shut down because their resident bloggers get caught up in life. It’s natural, it happens. Everyone has a life to live and I’d rather people not write good, insightful posts because they don’t have time then put together some random thoughts just in the sake of getting posts up. What’s worse is blogs run by the younger crowd that die because its authors lose interest in it. Contrary to popular belief, blogging isn’t as easy as it may seem. Even if you only blog about things you’re interested in.
While most, if not all, of the blogs run by people our age aren’t even close to the web’s best, I think we still have as much influence and worth in the blogosphere as the globe’s best blogs. The way young adults view the world now is more complex then ever and our outlook on life is more complicated then ever. Majority of the world’s art was conceived before your and my existence (unless we’re going back to Holy Days) so only two things could influence you: what has come before you and what comes now. If anybody’s theories on my philosophy should be heard, it’s young adults. The issue is, though, that our current generation of youth is simplifying the way they communicate their ideas, for better or worse. In terms of the blogosphere, this can be reiterated as the “same thing, different blog” phenomenon. You know, the 300,ooo blogs that pop up everyday about people’s cats or daily routines or the umpteen-million blogs that pop up reviewing music “that you should listen to”? Instead of painting a picture or writing a novel, today’s society writes short blurbs on websites about the things they’re feeling for the world to witness. And a lot of the time, there are tons of people that feel the same way as you about something that also seem to have a blog. Apparently, a lot of people have a problem with that reality though.
I don’t see where the problem is. People complain that most of the blogs being introduced today are “nothing new” and are regurgitating the same news, ideas, and media. In many cases, people do just copy and paste content with no personal feedback but, for the most part, people have something to say. After all we live in a country that lets us exercise our first amendment rights very well and often (somewhat surprisingly?). And even though opinions are like assholes, everyone has one; everyone also has a different one. Even if they’re similar, they’re still different. Like I said before, blogging isn’t necessarily easy. It’s not hard per se, but it aint easy either. The point is that people work and dump minutes, hours, and days worth of mental property into their blogs, which are like small windows into people’s lives, and they usually do it for you, the reader, not themselves.
Hardly any idea is truly new. For the past two centuries, you can name a trillion different inventions or things that haven’t been built upon or improved and whose true prominence came once somebody took the first concrete idea and decided to do their own thing to make it better or just more unique. The same applies to the blogosphere. If you think you’re doing something new, chances are you’re not. Hell you fucked up once you started the blog. New idea that is, huh? Just because it’s not new, doesn’t mean it can’t be good, no matter what the subject matter. We’re a huge community, us bloggers, and what community doesn’t have similarities? Beyond that, despite the fact that a lot of blogs cover similar topics, people still support them with views. Also contrary to popular belief, people are interested in other people’s minute personal life details and interests. The world’s population appreciates people’s willingness to take the effort to open up to them for applaud, praise, disparagement and criticism.
So, to those people, I want to give a huge THANK YOU. Thank you to ALL the people that have viewed this blog and others. Whether you’ve visited once or click here everyday, thanks. Hell, even if you clicked here by accident, thanks. Without, you the readers, this would be pointless and our community, with all its similarities (and differences) would be dead. Readers are really what make the world go round, and without all the readers, we wouldn’t have even started doing this shit.
If you weren’t here since day one and even if you have, I encourage you to skip back and view all the stuff we’ve posted so far on the blog. With college life being the life we live and all, posts don’t go up as often as they should, but in the time of our blog’s short existence, we’ve thrown a lot of content around the blog we would love for you to check out. Do a little crate diggin’ one day. And as always, check back often on the homepage for new content.
We appreciate all the support we get over here at UND headquarters and we appreciate all the people out there that blog, just like us.

I don’t really play as many video games as I used to. When I was a bit younger, I was a serious gamer though. Any new, highly publicized game, I played and if I was skeptical, the good people at Blockbuster knew my face. Now, however, I really don’t play as much. The games are more expensive and to be honest, it’s a lot of the same stuff different, title going on. I’ve stopped buying annual releases and grabbing all of those “must-have” games (COD:MW2, I’m looking at you) and concentrating on just a few games and playing them over and over again. One publisher I can always trust will get my money though is Rockstar games. R* (R-Star as I affectionately call them) is responsible for countless hours of my life spent before a computer or TV screen. And in case you’re a bit lost as to who they are, I think we all know about that little Grand Theft Auto series all the kids play. The reason why I like R* so much is because all their games are immersive, and the level of detail in their games is mind blowing. Story lines in their games are more than interesting, they’re gripping. Characters are well thought out and dynamic as well. R* employees are true artists, not just computer programmers, and while other companies are churning out re-releases of the same basic concepts (how many damn Guitar Hero’s are there now?), R* is busy pushing the envelope.
So, naturally when I found out that there was a sequel coming to one of my all time favorite games of all time from R*, I had to get excited. The game I’m taking about is Red Dead Revolver, a rip-roaring Western that R* saved from the dying clutches of Capcom and turned into one of the best playing experiences I’ve ever had in a video game. It was the western tale that every kid wanted to play out when they were young complete with small, shaky towns, devious outlaws, vigilant sheriffs, and terrifying bounty hunters. I don’t want to give away the plot or anything because I strongly encourage that everyone play this game (you can get it for cheap if you can find a copy. Look in the used bin at your local GameStop). If you want a little bit of background though, check this review here.
So, the first game wasn’t great, but it was damn good, and most important of all, fun as hell. The potential for a next-gen sequel probably wasn’t realized in 2004 when the game first dropped, but now, six years later, R* has finally unveiled its vision for an updated version of their western epic. It is drop dead gorgeous. Mixing already outstanding proprietary engines and world class third-party engines, the game flows with a realism and flare reminiscent to a classic western feature film. Check out the video showing some gameplay and explaining the physics and weapons and be on the look out for this outstanding game in April 2010.

The debate about who the true heir to the Michael Jordan throne is has been battled on playgrounds, in barbershops, in front of the TV, and even on TV. Is it Kobe or Lebron? What about the less popular but still as valid Carmelo and Wade suggestions? That discussion could rage on forever while all these players are in the current spots of their career, but one player wins by default in one after MJ23 category, and that is Lebron James. When it comes to the leading signature basketball shoe, Lebron James’ signature line is the best thing we have right now since Jordan’s. Looking back on the seven feature shoes he’s released, his line has been really good so far and with the current run of the Lebron VII, by far the best one to date, it looks like good days are ahead for Lebron’s signature footwear. Outside of his numbered line, he has other great shoes like the Soldier Series and the 20-5-5. Honestly, the LBJVII itself is the best signature basketball shoe since maybe the Air Jordan XVII. It’s topped all sorts of best of lists and things like that, and people are wearing them. Even Tom Cruise.
This Tom Cruise photo has been all around the net and back, so I’m pretty late on it, but seeing it made me raise the question: Will LBJ23 shoes ever reach the level of Air Jordans? 15 years from now, will the significance of an OG LBJVII be the same as an OG AJVII? Seinfield wore Jays, and now TC is rocking LBJs. As a matter of fact, Jays have been in a smattering of movies and TV shows which helped lead to the astronomical social rise of Air Jordan’s. It seems that with the VII, Lebron has finally reached that status. That “must have” shoe that performs well and looks picturesque all at the same time. The shoe that stars are rocking and people are fiending for. If Lebron wins a couple of championships, then I think it would be solidified, he would be the next Jordan when it comes to having the world’s most prolific signature shoe. He’s a great player, this we know, and he is a great socialite as well. What people are now realizing now is that his line has just as much personality as MJ’s. There are a ton of colorways with cool stories and designs with inspirations from all facets of life, just like MJ’s Air Jordan’s.
I think Lebron’s time is now. He can revive the hysteria that Air Jordan’s gave the world in the late 80’s/early 90’s. And for the sake of all the basketball fans and sneaker-heads out there, I hope he does.

I’ve always fucked with Erykah Badu. I remember I used to steal my mom’s Erykah Badu: Live CD (remember those?) and listen to it all the time. Badu, like say, a Jill Scott, is a total artist. Her appeal extends far beyond her music. It extends to her soulful aesthetic and deep lyrics as well. So, a new Badu project will usually get the green light from me right off the bat, but when I saw that she has a song with Weezy, my eyebrows raised quite quickly. It’s really no need to explain why I was a bit confused with the situation but I figured Badu has a good ear, and is open to new things, so it can’t be bad. That is not the case however. The song, called “Jump in the Air (Stay There), pales in comparison to the classic Badu we’ve heard in the past (even her last album, New Amerykah Part One (4th World War). Also, the Weezy verse is horrible, definitely not his best effort. Give it a listen and tell us what you think. Apparently, ten different versions of this song are coming out too.

My morning routine is pretty much the same as Curren$y’s in this video but without the Threes, not as much green, and the expensive champagne. Other than that, we’re like on the same page. Produced by Mos Def. J-E-T-S! Props for the Joao Gilberto feature in the beginning. Don’t forget to scoop my Bossa Nova collection here.
